Instructions for Use

Ambleweb Function Machine allows students to experiment to determine a pattern rule.

Choose one of the Single Step Operations. Then enter a number as the input and click “Activate” to see the output. Type as many inputs as you need to until you think you know what the pattern rule is.

Write the pattern rule using a variable. Then click “Reveal Program” to see if you are correct.
