Instructions for UseLong Division is an animation that lets students observe step-by-step instructions to answer long division questions. Click the 'OK' button and follow the review. To see another example, click the 'Next' button. Division using Square Units lets students explore and practice division by using square units. To use Division using Square Units, click 'Show Me'. This option lets students explore the result of dividing one number by another, by dragging the slider to the left of the grid. A dividend is given and, by adjusting the slider, the quotient and the remainder change within the grid in the corresponding equation to the right. The numbers below and to the left of the grid represent the number of blue boxes in the grid. The red blocks represent the remainder in the given equation. Click on the "Test Me' to solve division problems. Use the slider to create an array to represent the division problem. Input the answers in the text boxes and click 'Check' to see if they are correct. |
